President Adama Barrow has vowed to deliver inclusive development and strengthen government accountability as he embarks on his 2025 nationwide “Meet-the-People” tour, which began on Monday, November 10.

The three-week engagement, covering all regions of The Gambia, aims to bring government closer to citizens and assess the impact of development projects under Barrow’s transformation agenda.

Speaking at the launch in Banjul, President Barrow reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that “no region or community is left behind.” He said the tour offers his administration a direct platform to interact with citizens and evaluate the performance of ongoing government initiatives.

“This tour is a constitutional responsibility that helps us connect with the people, understand their concerns, and ensure development reaches every corner of the country,” Barrow stated before departing the capital.

According to the itinerary, the President will hold 21 constituency meetings and inspect 31 development sites, focusing on infrastructure, agriculture, education, health, and youth and women empowerment.

Crowds of National People’s Party (NPP) supporters gathered in Banjul to cheer as the President’s convoy set off for the West Coast Region, where he began his first round of community engagements and project visits.

The 2025 “Meet-the-People” tour is expected to run until early December, with the Presidency promising daily updates on regional visits and community dialogues.
