The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad has launched an investigation into allegations of abuse involving domestic staff at The Gambia Embassy in Moscow following reports circulating on social media.
In a press release issued on Friday, the Ministry said it became aware of the allegations and immediately initiated inquiries while directing that a thorough investigation be conducted to establish the facts surrounding the matter. Authorities noted that the outcome of the probe would guide any decisions to be taken.
The Ministry stressed that it treats allegations of misconduct involving diplomatic personnel with “the utmost seriousness,” reaffirming its commitment to professionalism, accountability, respect for human dignity and high standards of conduct across Gambian diplomatic missions abroad.
Officials further stated that all necessary due diligence and administrative procedures would be followed to ensure the matter is handled fairly, transparently and in line with the laws and regulations governing the public service and diplomatic corps.
The Ministry assured the public that appropriate actions would be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
