The Office of the Clerk earlier today held a high-level strategic engagement with Honorable Members (NAMs) to address critical administrative issues and enhance the institution’s overall performance.

The meeting is part of a broader strategic framework designed by the Office of the Clerk to foster regular dialogue with lawmakers. The session focused on addressing challenges that impact the discharge of legislative mandates while providing a comprehensive update on the administration’s vision to modernize and improve the efficiency of parliamentary services.

The Honorable Speaker, Fabakary Tombong Jatta commended the initiative, describing the engagement as a step in the right direction. He noted that such sessions are vital for the health of the institution, allowing the administration and the elected members to discuss internal matters in the spirit of a unified professional family.

“This engagement enables both sides to address issues that affect them collectively, ensuring we move forward with a shared purpose,” the Speaker remarked.

During the session, the Clerk of the National Assembly, Mr. Kalipha MM Mbye reiterated his office’s unwavering commitment to institutional excellence. He emphasized that his primary priority remains the provision of adequate, professional, and efficient support services to all Honorable Members.

“Our goal is to ensure that every Member of this Assembly is equipped with the necessary administrative and technical support to effectively perform the duties and responsibilities charged to them by the Constitution,” the Clerk stated.

The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of synergy between the legislative wing and the administrative arm of the Assembly, with both parties agreeing on the importance of maintaining high standards of decorum, attendance, and procedural integrity to better serve the public interest.
