Pa Modou Cham Honoured at First International Conference on Justice and Reform

BENGHAZI, Libya – Award-winning Gambian journalist and Editor-in-Chief of CTV Africa, Pa Modou Cham, has been recognised at the First International Conference on Justice and Reform in Benghazi, Libya, for his contributions to journalism and public engagement.

The recognition was presented during the international gathering, which brought together participants from across the world to discuss issues relating to justice, reform, governance, and international cooperation.

Reacting to the honour, Cham described the recognition as both humbling and encouraging as he continues to participate in regional and international platforms across Africa and beyond.

“As I continue travelling, exploring new cities, and engaging in meaningful conversations and decision-making spaces across Africa and beyond, I am grateful to have been recognised for my work and contributions,” he said.

He also expressed appreciation for being addressed with the honorary title “Dr.” during the event, describing it as a gesture he deeply values.

Cham extended special thanks to the African Centre for Democracy and Human Rights Studies (ACDHRS) for facilitating his participation in the conference, saying the opportunity enabled him to engage with colleagues and experts from around the globe.

The First International Conference on Justice and Reform served as a platform for dialogue and the exchange of ideas among professionals, academics, policymakers, and civil society representatives committed to advancing justice and institutional reform.

The recognition adds to Cham’s growing international profile as a Gambian journalist whose work has taken him to major regional and global events, covering issues of governance, development, human rights, and public policy.
